Just begin to notice how it is that you feel. Without shifting or changing or judging or assessing, but just allow yourself to feel. As we think about the word yoga, it is a living thing, and it is also something that is constantly changing. So, the word yoga in many ways is an experience of relationship. So to be curious about what kind of relationship you're creating not only to the inside ... you know, we often talk about relationship to the soul, which we can't really get to the soul until we've let go of some of the other garbage. So that relationship can be really to anything, but just to be curious. We often think about our relationships at work, relationships with maybe our kids, relationships with our family, relationships with our significant others, but what about relationship to you? To your nature? To getting to know what it is that you need today?
This episode is a dharma talk and meditation on digesting and assimilating our thoughts and emotions. Ayurveda, which is an age old science on balancing your system, we are what we digest, not what we eat, and I think that this is huge. This makes so much sense to me as I look back or reflect on areas where I tend to get stuck in my life, and it literally is something that is not digested, and it is sitting there and building and building. If we keep it sitting there, it bursts in a very often toxic kind of way as it exits out. This is not only painful for us, but it is painful for those around us.

If you have anxiety or you need to take a deep breath, there's no room for your breath. So, the worst thing you can do is tell somebody when they have anxiety is to take a deep breath, because you can't. Then you get mad or whatever it is, is your go to. Right?. That's what there is to do, exhale. You empty and what's left is you, what's left is peace, what's left is the soul, what's left is clarity. But we're always like, get more. You know? You can't, there's no room. Just as a side note, because I do it even as a teacher, I'm like close your eyes, take a deep breath. As a complete side note for yourself, ignore that direction and exhale first. It is the way to get a deeper breath.
Now we'll shift ... I was thinking about the word nourish. We were talking a little bit about this yesterday in class, but the word nourish, and to use our practice as nourishment, because often I think we come to the mat to try to fix ourselves or to try to get rid of something, but to nourish ourselves is completely different.
